Summer Style

Spring has finally sprung and summer is fast approaching. In the blog we will talk about the best colours and styles of clothing to wear this summer as well as what makeup to use to give yourself that summer glow even if you haven't managed to get away.

Colours to have in your 2021 summer wardrobe

Some of the trendy colours for this summer include Burnt coral, Willow, Raspberry sorbet, Buttercream, Illuminating Yellow, Marigold, Mint and french Blue.

Here are some examples of how you can add this colours in to your outfits....

Summer 2021 trends

  • Monochrome looks - Designers such as Chanel, YSL, Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana and many more, have shown in their SS21 Runway shows that there will be a big rise in monochromatic looks this spring/summer.

  • The Return of the Bralette - This bralette/sports bra trend gained popularity in the 90's and its now back bigger and better than ever thanks to designers such as Isabel Marant and Alberta Ferretti .

  • The maxi dress - Full length dresses are back for good! Valentino, Michael Kors, Rick Owens all showed the power of a good old maxi dress at their recent shows.

  • Baggy trousers - This last trend is probably my favourite. Say goodbye to you little old skinny jeans, spring summer 2021 is all about the baggy trousers thanks to fashion houses such as Bottega Veneta, Tom Ford and Dsquared2.

A Natural Makeup Glow for summer 2021

The summer normally means hanging out by the pool, heading the beach and staying out relaxing the the boiling hot sun all day. First thing to make sure you do every day, and very possibly more than once a day is apply sun cream. Sun cream not only helps protect your skin from the suns UV rays, but it can also help prevent ageing.

To achieve a natural looking summer glow I would ditch the foundation all together ( especially if you are planning on being in the sun all day. Let the skin breathe. You can always add concealer to any blemishes or areas you prefer to cover. Then add nice a bronzer to contour your face as well as in the crease of your eye lid to create more depth if needed. After the bronzer add blush just below or on the lower part of your cheekbones and across the bridge of your nose to create a sun kissed effect ( you may also want to add some along your temple/ outer part of your forehead). This could be followed by adding some highlighter on your cheekbones and under your brows and in the inner corner of the eyes, to show off the sun hitting your face. Lastly add a waterproof mascara and a light pink, fairly natural looking gloss to your lips to complete the look.
